The Impact of Paternalistic Leadership on Organization Identification: A Moderated Mediation Model

The purpose of this study is to investigate how the two components paternalistic leadership, namely authoritarianism and benevolence, jointly influence employee organization identification. Using a sample 182 full-time employees China, found that benevolent climate mediated positive relationship between leadership organizational identification, authoritarian moderated direct effect on indirect identification via climate. That is, when leaders simultaneously exhibit authoritarianism, they are more likely promote perception among who then identify with organization.
